Countin' dem pennies from youtube clips As I try to get rich in the music biz Stream this, click that, a download or two These days it seems it’s what we all do Micro pay me in slices of a cent Hope to get enough so I can pay the rent A hat tip to you Mr. Franklin, but I’m all about the Abrahams I’ll try to make it big so I can be all about the Abrahams You’re gonna get rich slow when you are all about the Abrahams That’s just the way it goes when you are all about the Abrahams I put the songs out and I hope for good luck With 1200 plays I might make a buck A few thousand more and I'll buy a happy meal This is what happens when you keep it real (You’re gonna get rich now someday / You’re gonna be loaded)

It’s time to play the blame game Another chance for calling people names Ignore the facts, they just get in the way You see your chance to say what you want to say Dirty secrets abound Words said behind closed doors, all around town Time to unleash some dirt Without thinking about who you might hurt So join in on the blame game Take your turn, calling people names Don’t worry about the truth Just say the first thing that comes to you Keep it all locked up tight Until it’s time to bring it all to light It’s not a smear campaign Omit some facts, it’s part of the game How’s it feel to take someone down? Do your hold your head up high when you walk through town? What if it were to turn around on you? Would it feel like you’re getting just what you’re due?

What’s The Yams? The Yams, you say? What’s The Yams? Am I supposed to know? What’s The Yams? Is this thing for me? The Yam is the power that be What’s The Yams? I’ve heard of it before What’s The Yams? I don’t know What’s The Yams? Are you asking me? The Yam is the power that be So many new things to understand, get past me as I get old Words and phrases like “The Yams” mean something or so I’m told I try to keep up as best I can I try to have a clue Then I hear someone use a brand new phase and it leaves me so confused Try to stay relevant and keep up with all my friends But it’s coming at me oh so fast, I can’t always follow trends The yam brought it out in Richard Pryor, do you know that means? If I look it up I’m gonna find out it’s patently obscene Do I give up trying to understand what the kids mean today? If I put in the effort to show that I know will they hear what I say? If they hear will they listen to some old guy spouting out hipster words I have to tell you when I try it feels quite absurd

Before I knew you I felt the gravity Something beyond control I knew was pulling me Binding us together in ways I couldn’t see And i would come to know there was only you for me (you for me) There’s a red string of fate between you and me It tells me what we’ve always known would be You know that you were meant for me You always have, you see Some find it when when they’re young Others wait till they are old to hear what they were told And they see they’re intertwined by a tie that binds two that are one From near or from far it’s still the same It remains The chord it may stretch but it won’t break it stays the same for you and me

Stay still, this won’t hurt a bit I promise you won’t feel a thing It’s all in your head, at least that’s what she said Stay still she said, This won’t hurt a bit You’re making this out to be bigger than you should It’s easier if you just let go You’ll find a way, Out on your own Stay still she said, This won’t hurt a bit Easy enough for you to say You’re the one walking away While I stand here holding on too tight Waiting out my time You need to learn how to let go You need to learn how to move on You haven’t even tried, just need to give it some time Stay still she said, This won’t hurt a bit Time will come when this will all make sense Time will come it will be so clear They say that time heals all wounds And all I have is time Stay still, this won’t hurt a bit I promise you won’t feel a thing It’s all in your head, at least that’s what she said Stay still she said, This won’t hurt a bit

You stood there center stage The spotlight full on you You’d get just what you want Your dreams would all come true But I knew where to look To see through the disguise I could see the truth Behind the eyes You changed from day to day Kept the people on their heels Showed them what to see Told them what to feel But I knew where to look To see through the disguise I could see the truth Behind the eyes You’re a scared and wounded little boy Made up of greasepaint and light Hoping no one notices The cracks in your disguise Through all your many changes We came along with you We followed you to the end It’s what we had to do You brought us so much joy While wearing your disguise Never showing The truth behind the eyes

Trying out new names and every one is taken You think this is easy?, Well my friend you’d be mistaken Every combination ends with the color black From A Drop Of Joker all the way to Ground Attack Every time I have a good idea, it’s an asshat metal band I don’t want to steal from an asshat metal band I don’t get the appeal of an asshat metal band I guess I’m not what you’d call an asshat metal fan I see that Iron Fist is now Bad City Girl And some guys in France are called Forsaken World Even Acoustic Crime’s already been used And I can’t call myself A Mind Confused I’m ready for a million dollars I’m writing songs about you It’s a margarita Monday I’m a swimming machine. Boo. Goodbye to the river, we’re waving Move to Greece, it’s a thing we could do No matter what I said last night I’m pretty sure I still like you

Falling in love is wonderful, especially when it’s with you It happens all over every day, seems the right thing to do Falling in love is wonderful, especially when it’s with you I can’t think of anything that I’d rather do I’m reminded how great it is each and every day And I wouldn’t have it any other way Falling in love is wonderful Especially when it’s with you Falling in love is wonderful, it sounds silly to say And even after all this time I wouldn’t have it any other way Falling in love is wonderful, it’s the best thing that you can do Lean a little closer you’ll find that my aim is true I’m reminded how great it is each and every day And I wouldn’t have it any other way Falling in love is wonderful Especially when it’s with you (ooh-ooh) With you (ooh-ooh) With you

about

Letter Seventeen Norcross

Whimsical indie pop from a one-man band. Except when other people help. Which is quite often. So it's not like a one-man band at all.
Oh. And there are songs about donkeys.
